Month 1: In Pictures

Asher was such a little itty bitty baby and now he seems like such a big boy. The first month we took photos every week and now we are taking them every month. The cards are 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and the circle graphic is the same size every time, too, so it's fun to compare how big he has grown (and how big his head has gotten!).

Here's a look back at the first few weeks after he was born - the outfit in the 4 week picture doesn't even fit anymore and we don't have to roll his jeans up these days. He is already wearing some 3-6 month clothes which is good because we have a ton of 3-6 month outfits for him to start breaking in. We do, however, need to stock up on some 3-6 month warm, footed PJs for him - I think his days of being swaddled at night are numbered so we'll have to figure out another way to keep him warm through the winter.

A girl can dream...

Who needs Prince William anyway? You can find your very own castle to purchase here. Now I just need to find my millionaire. Or billionaire- I'm not quite sure since all the prices are not in US dollars. (You know when they mention it is just a quick helicopter ride from the city that it isn't going to be cheap.)  Hope Lawrence doesn't mind. He can come visit anytime.

Where does the time go?

This week we celebrated Asher's 2-month birthday! How did he get so old so fast? He's turning into a little boy right before our eyes. I swear I just blinked and he grew even more!

Of course, we celebrated by taking him to the doctor and getting him poked and prodded with his first set of shots. Nothing says happy birthday like some multi-colored band aids.

Two month stats: 10lbs 8oz, 22 inches

Asher, at two months old you are a happy, inquisitive, thoughtful little boy. You greet us every morning with a smile on your face these days and aside from some fussy time at night when you are getting sleepy, you stay happy all day long. You are engrossed by ceiling fans and I swear you would be content laying on your back watching the light and fan blades go round and round for hours. You have definitely taught me how to appreciate life's simpler things - light streaming through the window or twinkle lights on the Christmas tree are also some of your favorites. You are a wiggly little boy and love to move your arms and legs all around. I think you will be crawling in no time, much to my dismay. At the doctor's office this week the doctor had you up on the table testing your tummy time skills and when he put his arm behind your legs you started scooting all the way across the table. You also have great eyebrow control that you use to help you make thousands of funny faces. You've got hundreds of happy faces, sad faces, deep in thought faces, and "I'm working on a special little something for you to change" faces.

We love you more than either of us ever thought possible and although I miss my snuggly little newborn I look forward to every new day with you and to see what new development or new face you will have next. We love you, little man!

Waiting...

At the doctors office waiting for his two month shots. It's possible I will cry more than he will!

A Tisket, a Tasket...

... I stuck our cute little baby boy in a picnic basket! It was a beautiful day, I was given an antique picnic basket from my grandma, and Asher was looking adorable as always. With this trifecta, how could I resist taking him outside and getting a few shots?

Super unimpressed by my photo quest, as usual. Funny face #7,542.

I think he was planning his escape route at this point.

And finally, after many, many shots, he looked me in the lens. Okay, kid, we can go inside now.
